It is difficult to believe that five years has passed since that devastating news came from my daughter, Annette, sharing with me, "Mom, I have breast cancer." Even though the news was better than some, it still shook me to my core. I still choose to walk for all those who still are fighting this monster, Cancer. If you have a name of someone close to you and would share their name with me, I will add them to my shirt on race day.  I have accepted the challenge to again participate in the 2017 Liz Hurley Ribbon Run and raise funds to support the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund at Huntsivlle Hospital Foundation. This year proceeds will help purchase additional three D digital tomosynthesis mammography equipment. This technology creates three dimensional pictures of breast tissue making the cancer easier to detect. Early detection is still our best defense.
Team McAdams has set a very challenging goal for ourselves this year. We want to push Team McAdams to pass the $100,000 mark over 5 years to celebrate Annette's 5 year cancer free Anniversary!!! We want to raise close to $30,000 this year and we really need your support! Whatever you can donate will help-it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your continued support and will keep you posted on my progress as I head toward race day, Saturday, October 21, 2017!! This will be my last year to actively participate because it is becoming more difficult to walk that 3.1 miles!! So, I want to go out with a bang!! PLEASE DONATE OR JOIN US IN THE FIGHT.  WE CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!!
